I'm finally back in the office, and it's oh so quiet! I can actually hear myself think.
Sadly, thinking is about all I will be doing today as I discovered this morning that one of my darlings had absconded with my thumb drive.
This is where I admit I have made the grave mistake of backing up all my research and writing in one place... You know it! On that thumb drive.
Every PhD student knows this is a very big no-no. But you see, I've really only just started work and I and had plans of buying a portable hard drive, and also backing everything up on drop box (when I either pay to expand my already busting-at-the-seams account or create a new account (which would be my third dropbox account).
I guess it is good the little
Still, I could cheerfully throttle my kids right now. NOTHING is sacred, is it?
You know the Toddler Rules of Posession?

Yes, well, in my experience, it doesn't only pertain to toddlers, but also to teenagers - and every age in between!
I'm participating in this weeks IBOT over a EssentiallyJess - come and play with us.

Oh no!! One of my worst things is when I have to redo something because I lost it on the computer. My USB once corrupted when I was at uni on the MYOB file that I had been working on for a couple months. I was so dirty having to redo the boring file again. I am pretty sure I cried.
Toddlers & teenagers. Sort of the same in MANY respects!!!!
I used to have my blog posts on the computer, on my blog and on a jumpdrive but I haven't done that for a while. This post however has given me the push that I need to go back to doing that.
That is definitely the toddler rules, and my toddler knows them all so very well!! But yes, I can imagine teenagers think along the same lines! x Karen #teamIBOT
I remember my dad going absolutely nuts over us taking things from his study and not returning them.
My kids are still little, but I've already had the experience of looking for something (seems to happen a lot with my kitchen scissors!) only to find that little hands have taken them for a wander! Infuriating.
Oh boy! That is such a pain. They really do just think everything is theirs. I hope the fixing is not too difficult for you!
Those rules are sooo true, especially if you put it down it's mine!!! Bet it's nice to have some quiet back at office. My office is in my kitchen/lounge/living area, NOISY Emily @ Have A Laugh On Me
Good reminder that I need to get a few more flash drives for backing up onto. I can't even remember where my last one has gone, which is shocking
